Taygetos Wild Oregano
Daphne and Chloé is the producer of delectable Taygetos Wild Oregano. The producer organizes its harvests in a way that protects biodiversity—that is because of responsible, organic farming. Since the best organic farming practices are followed, it keeps the aromas and medicinal properties of the plant intact.
Oregano (from ancient Greek, ὀρίγανον, which means “joy of the mountains”) is a plant that grows on sunny terrain, up to 1,000 meters above sea level. Its flavor is both floral and slightly bitter. It contains the notes of lemon along with a spicy tip. The taste is a little peppery but sweet all the same. It is the very characteristic taste—barely minty—and smell, which immediately remind the scrubland and the sunny days.

Composition: Wild oregano from Taygetos
Variety AOC / Origin: Mount Taygetos, Greece
Net weight: 20g

Oregano is an excellent source of vitamin K, iron, calcium, and magnesium. It is anti-spasmodic and, in general, excellent for balancing digestion.

Chef’s Council
Oregano can come to season many foods. Among many food items is fresh cheese (of goat and ewes, for example—like our galomizithra); it can be sprinkled on a nice Greek salad with tomatoes and feta or on slices of bread grilled with garlic.
Very simply, this herb can also season a pasta dish with a drizzle of olive oil, fresh cheese, and lemon zest.
This herb can even be put on grills, fish, or meat; it is also used for marinades or even infusion.
In a nutshell, oregano is an excellent ally in cooking and will be associated with all your dishes very quickly!
